A Thermal Electric Generator is a small chip with some really interesting properties. If you heat one side of it you can get an electric current. If you apply a current to it you get one side making lots of heat and the other side making lots of cold.
This is really useful. A small flame can power many LED's. A flame with enough TEG's (they come in 4 cm x 4 cm chips that are a couple mm thick) a flame could charge your electronics.
With batteries to store energy the TEG's provide provide heat and cold. Would you like a thermos that was able to keep your food right at your desired temperature?
