I thought that a great spool holder should have the following properties :
- Easy to build
- Minimal Filament use for building
- No bearings or other parts than prints ( as it is not needed for such use !)
- Low frictions in rotation
- Nice design
- The filament spool can be removed and changed with a different colour easily .
- Can cope with multiple spool types in width, and in spool holes
- Can stand without being screwed
- Can be screwed on a wood platform
- There must be some Filament guides to prevent filament going off track
- a dust filter is needed to filter
- can be use as a horizontal or vertical spool holder, as you wish.
Teinturman's spool Holder is my proposition to fullfill all these requirements :
The key concept is that there is no transverse axis : the bushing are rotating on each side of the spool holder, and it is possible to bend the legs to put or remove a spool easily.
