We conducted a very quick test temperature resistance (70 °) for 3 3D printing materials we use regularly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjc7gnhaChQ
- PLA (polylactic acid)
- PET (polyethylene terephthalate)
- Nylon
We performed this test with the same file and the same 3D print setting (filling 100%).
Each object is 5mm thick, 15mm height and 40 mm in length.
PLA at a temperature of 70 ° becomes very resilient and the deformation is irreversible.
PET at a temperature of 70 ° resists perfectly.
Nylon at a temperature of 70 ° it also resists perfectly.
Conclusion: Choosing your 3D printing materials and very important. PLA for use in your home or office can meet your need perfectly. But never let PLA near a heat box or in your car in the summer.
We will soon test with ABS and Polycarbonate.
