Tether for Drill Chuck Key

More often than not, the key for the chuck of an electric drill does not come with a means to tether it to the drill, or the tether becomes damaged or lost over time.

Here are two types of tether attaching devices that should be adaptable to most types of chuck keys. One is for the simple L-shaped key. The other is for a key that does not allow you to slip a ring over the portion where you want to place the device.

Which ever type you use, you will first need to scale to size and print two copies.
Slip the two copies over the key, making sure the flat sides are touching, and then glue the two pieces together with CA glue or other.

The photo shows the closed type attached to a key for a 3/8" Black and Decker hand drill.
Both pieces have a design diameter of 7.6 mm where they attach to the chuck key. Scale X, Y & Z appropriately for your chuck key.
