Use hot coffee to make your frozen-solid butter portion spread properly on toast.
Ever been in a hotel where the butter portions are rock solid? You can't spread them on your toast because they've just come out of the fridge.

The better quality the butter, the more of a problem this is.
Use the heat of your coffee mug or tea cup to soften your butter. Clip it to the side and it automatically adjusts to fit. Your butter will be ready in 2 or 3 minutes :)
