You need scatter terrain for your games. Wooden crates are a good option for several reasons.
1) The Crate gives your minis cover or can even block Line-of-Sight
2) The Crate in multiples can create barricades or giant piles
3) The Crate can be spread around your tabletop to reduce movement
4) The Crate fits in on fantasy, modern, or grimdark terrain
5) There is only one The Crate
I made a simple hollow crate model with an open bottom side. This is The Crate. I changed the dimensions of that STL to make four variants, you can resize it yourself as well. There are two variants that are cubical; one is 20mm and the other is 25mm. There are two more variants that are useful as 'stair step crates' they are both 20mm tall though one is 25mm square and the other is 32mm square. These are handy to stack in a stair step fashion next to the sides of buildings, cliffs, walkways, or whatever so that they provide access up and down for your miniatures.
