The Gear Sphere

This is a cool spherical toy with geared panels. It's a bit of a challenge to assemble correctly so pay attention to the pics and what panels have grooves and which do not, and which have both one end with a groove and the other doesn't. This was printed with AMOLEN tri color silk pla. Make sure to have good bed adhesion also! Assembly- Be sure to pay attention to the different panel ends. This is due to needing to have the gears rotated half a tooth to allign straight with the next gear in line. Link to YouTube video with some pointers below! You'll need 24 bolts that are M4 x 16 SHCS. Start with the top view, take 2 double grooved and 2 non grooved panels and assemble with the joint piece like in the picture. Tighten then back off the bolt about a ¼ turn. Just enough to have easy movement. I used some grease inside the ends of the panels where the joint rotates to have smoother action. Same with where the heads of the bolts go, as the bolts rotate with the panels. Make 2 of these ass
