🥤The Soda Silo – A Fun Mechanical Soda Can Holder The Soda Silo is a just‑for‑fun mechanical print featuring a twist‑lift mechanism and a five‑leaf iris that opens like a tiny missile silo for your soda can. It’s not meant to be practical or insulated — it’s simply a cool, over‑engineered project that shows off mechanical motion and a fun way to take a sip! This model fits 12oz and 16oz soda/beer cans and is assembled from multiple printed parts plus a handful of screws and magnets. The magnets are optional, but they make the iris feel more premium. ⭐ Features Twist‑lift mechanism raises the can as you rotate the base Five‑leaf iris opens and closes smoothly Fits 12oz and 16oz cans Modular assembly with M3 hardware Optional magnets for a more premium feel PETG recommended for durability and outdoor use Purely for fun — not insulated, not drop‑proof, not dishwasher‑safe 🧩 Printed Parts Collar Inner Tube Open Handle Outer Tube Iris Cap Iris Lever 5× Iris Leaves 🔩 Hardware Required 14× M3×6 socket head bolts 5× M3×16 socket head bolts 10× 6×2 round magnets 5× 3×2 round magnets Magnets are optional — the model works fine without them. 🖨️ Print Notes PETG strongly recommended (PLA will warp if used outside) TPU is untested but may improve durability The iris leaves plate within the .3mf file has a pause at layer to insert magnets Supports are needed (and manually preplaced) on some parts and can be a bit tedious to clean No sanding required — iris tension is adjusted using the M3×16 bolts If the iris feels tight, loosen the bolts slightly until motion is smooth Full print settings are included in the individual part profiles. 🔧 Assembly Video & Notes Assembly difficulty: Medium (Just follow the video — the only harder part is cleaning supports.) The iris mechanism bolts to the outer tube, and you can choose the lever position by selecting different mounting holes Insert magnets during the pause‑at‑layer step if you want the premium feel Adjust the iris tension using
