This is my little cable organizer. There is no need to ram a screw into you beautiful desk or table anymore. This one brings its own screw to chuck it to your desk/table.

It might not be the most stable thingi out there but it is stable enough to get rid of the cable salad on you desk if you do not use them. And if you need your cable again - surprise - you do not have to pick them from the floor anymore! They are right here on the edge of your desk, ready to be pulled back.

The inner hole is 7mm in diameter. So your cable should not be larger that 6mm in diameter.
The first thing is designed for a desk with a table height of 17mm (Ikea BEKANT)
The second one is designed for a desk with a table height of 39mm
If you put in the screw, be gentle and do not use too much force. It usually slips in at some point.
