I am connecting my usb-c monitors so often on my laptop that I made a coupler to make things faster, safer for the cables and making sure they won't swap places.
Can be used for any usb/thunderbolt devices.
It is designed with Dell monitor USB-C cables in mind (they have very bold plugs).

_A small screw can be used to make things more secure, though the grip is very firm with Dell cables._
