In the first version, it was more of a tray for quick part picking, but in practice this solution wasn’t very convenient: the lid didn’t secure well and regularly caused small but annoying issues. The solution turned out to be simpler than expected. I split the lid into four closing sections and implemented it as sliding lids with latches.The changes go beyond just the lid. I also refined the lock design — an additional slot was added, making the section connection noticeably tighter and more reliable. I’ll also address a common question about tolerances for the rods that hold the locks. I intentionally do not include them. Even minimal play negatively affects the latch performance.
