This is a learning process of time, technique, and calibration … it's also a commitment of filament. I'm printing several of these now, so I'd love your feedback if you go for it, or wait a little bit and I can share what more I learn. Step 1 - Print the support ring. I prefer to print with zero top and bottom layers and tight enough infill to provide a good support structure but to allow air to keep moving to avoid thermal deformation. I also printed in PLA+ which has worked well for this technique several times over. PETG might be a better choice but I haven't tried it yet.Think of the support ring as a single use, but it is possible to get more than one use if you handle it carefully. Step 2 - Load and slice the foot pad ring. Insert a print pause just before the top lip starts.With 0.28mm layers, my pause is at layer 32 with a height of 8.88mm. I found an 8% gyroid infill to have nice cushion but poor strength. 20% gyroid is probably 3-4% too much for what I want. B
