THE HISTORYThe Trojan Horse represents both cunning strategy and the downfall of Troy. According to Homer's Odyssey and Virgil's Aeneid, after a decade-long siege of the city Troy, the Greeks constructed a massive wooden horse and hid a select group of soldiers inside. Believing it to be an offering to the gods, the Trojans brought the horse within their fortified walls. Under the cover of night, the hidden warriors emerged, opened the gates, and allowed the Greek army to enter and destroy the city. The story highlights themes of deception, overconfidence, and fate, and has since become a lasting metaphor for hidden threats disguised as gifts.
