Tube Clamp with Protuberances

This is a simple clamp that facilitates attaching other clamps to a pole. I had someone donate a nice floor lamp to me, minus any of the bits except the stand and the base. I use little spring clamp lights for photography, but those clamp will slide right off a slick pole - not as bad if you are using a gorillapod or a reuseable rubber twist tie... but still. This is parametric and can be adjusted for any diameter of tube.

This design uses pan-head bolts/machine screws and hex nuts to apply the clamping force. In the example shown above, I am using 1/4-20" x 2" screws/nuts. Place the hex nut into the channel on each side, then thread the screw through from the other side.

For this little use - attaching lights to a stand, they work great - this design gives the quick spring clamps something knobby to which to attach, so that they don't twist with gravity.
