We're trying this modular, re-use method we designed for storing long and thin things we have in the workshop. So far it seems really good.
We think this is useful for storing threaded rods, regular rods, round bar, pipes, linear shafts, or even storing ties or handkerchiefs, or sticks and similar long thin stuff or rolled up stuff. This system could also be used for building stools and furniture.
This thing can be scaled for use with tubes of different diameters. It was designed for tubes that are Ø=52mm, so that is the default diameter. The zip ties used at the original scale are 4,8mm wide and need to be minimum 250mm long to assemble this comfortably but shorter could work. Ours was 300mm.
