UFS-053 Super Extra Long Wall Hook Using 3M Command Strip

My wife asked for a long hook that could hold a japanese paper lantern. She needed it to use the 3M Command Strips, because she’s not allow to nail things up at work.

I had a basic idea of what was needed, so I headed over to Thingiverse to see what ideas could work. Of course there are many hooks and several use command strips, nothing was exactly right.

The closest thing I found was this one, Long Wall Hook (Medium 3M Command Strip),

The original “Long Wall Hook” was 1.87” or 47.5mm over all length

We stretched it out to a “Super Extra Long” size at 10.72” or 272.5mm over all length. That is almost six times longer.

Of course you can’t hold too much weight, a few ounces at best. You can strengthen the hook, but with only one Command Strip on such a long hook there are limits.

There is a skinny version that tapers over the length.
