Under Cabinet Folding Spool Holder

Spool holder designed to be mounted to the underside of a cabinet. Swing the arm up and slide into the mount to store. Pull arm out and swing down to free it. Mounts with 4x #8 screws.

I found my Prusa with it's oem spool holder to be just a tad too tall to fit the printer under my cabinets. I removed the oem holder and use this mount to hold the spool while printer's in use. Stores up under the cabinet lip when not in use.

Print in 3 parts. The swing arm, mount, and top cap. The swing arm drops into the mount, and the top cap encloses the swing arm in the mount for a no-slop fit.

I've since added some UHMW tape to the top side of the arm that holds the filament and the top edge of the printer gantry. The extruder motor is plenty strong to pull the filament off the roll as-is, but to protect the arm, and the top edge of the gantry (all that filament coming over it without a guide was wearing the paint off the edge) I purchased some "UHMW" tape. Pretty slick stuff. I
