I originally tried to design a stand from scratch to hold my Atten 862-D Hot Air station over a PCB for BGA chip removal and I wasn't happy with what I came up with. A lot of AmScope owners including myself own the “Heavy Duty Double-arm Boom” stand with their microscopes; I realized that this would make an amazing stand for the hot air handpiece and would save space on my bench. In the end it worked way better than expected: it has a several different axes of movement as well as highly precise Y axis movement that is awesome to use with square nozzles for BGA removal. Because it is made of metal it is also very good at dissipating heat and very robust. After printing, insert the springy clamp into the groove inside of the mounting disc. The AmScope mount is threaded for M4 mounting bolts. I used M4 x 20mm long bolts. These bolts push on the three faces of the clamp to tighten it evenly around the hot air station handpiece. Any handpiece (or really anything in general!) ≤ 40mm in d
