Wanted a filament spool holder where I could easily swap between different brands - as I have Flashforge, Prusa and Reprap ++ - all of them with different diameters and width on the spools.
This spool holder has a base shaft supported with a 120mm 8mm rod. It's square and on this you can add different spool adapters.
The body parts (print two of them and smash them together) I would prefer to print in PETG but should also work fine in PLA. The adapters I have printed with leftover low quality PLA that I wanted to get rid of - with 5% infill.
You will nead two 608zz bearings, some M3 machine screws and square nuts and hex nuts. In addition a 120mmx8mm rod (I designed this around leftovers I had from MMU2S filament holders - but any 8mm rod will work just cut in the right length).
When printing the body - put the flat/mid side down, you can then print with no support.
The filament spool will turn around with very little friction.
Also added a guide that I am using
