I wanted a more significant board area than 1610 CNC but the size I wanted was out of my price range. I selected a 1610 CNC that was made of all metal. It was cute and worked but way too small. I found some 500mm rods and rails on Amazon and printed what else I used for the upsizing. My bed size is 350mm x 350mm. I used 8mm rods but can be sized to fit using 10mm rods. Also a holder for the rod-nut the right height for the scs8uu bearing blocks. I have included the OPENscad code and datasheets to help. And a plate for the base platform with code. I paid $130 (plus tax) for the 1610 and $150 for 500mm x 8mm lead screw (2) and (6) 500mm aluminum extrusion rails. My total is about $300 at this point.
