I used the 'manual' mode, set each state = 1, then exported. This will save you 48 trips to the customizer or OpenSCAD. I couldn't get AK & HI to export from either the customizer or OpenSCAD.
I made a Red/White/Blue 'puzzle'. scaled the states X4 on X & Y, then made the Z 1.2mm thick. I used 0.3mm layers. Made a map a bit larger than a sheet of 11x17 paper..
Next time, I'll probably edit them with their abbreviations, then do a filament-swap with black lettering on top.
