This is a simple USB adapter plug to isolate the 5V signal from the connected device.
It is useful to connect a printer to the Raspberry Pi so that the printer mainboard will be turned off when the printer is off.
At first I had a screwed version of the case but it's better to keep the wires short, so I changed it to make it shorter. To close the case I use isolation tape as you can see in the picture.
