I wanted to make an analog useless box, but didn't want to waste a "good" enclosure, nor have to print a whole box for it. And I have a few Booker's boxes for organizing components and stuff....why not repurpose one for this project, then I would only have to make the lid and a motor stand!
Hatch design and half of the arm borrowed from @pcdangio's useless machine design.
Parts needed:
- N20 gear motor (like https://amzn.to/41mJWyb)
- N20 mounting bracket (like https://amzn.to/3QsShdz)
- DPDT toggle switch (like https://amzn.to/419ljDQ)
- Momentary/Limit switch (I used roller switches that I already had, like https://amzn.to/4b5HsYa, but that's probably slight overkill.)
- 5-6VDC power supply of your choosing) (I used a pair of 18650 Lithium cells with a mini voltage regulator, but do whatever makes you happy. 4 AA batteries would be simplest.)
- M3 set screw for the Arm
- a few #4 sheet metal screws (M2 are about the same size in metric) of varying lengths
