I designed a VBD Very Big Delta.
The original concept was to go with PETG arms secured to laser cut wood. Instead I designed a Step file and ordered 1/4 inch thick 6061 aluminum plate from emachine shops.
I could do a follow on build (both wider and taller using C Channel), I have enclosed a picture of a plate which could accommodate C channel and then 4040 cross members.
The printer has a usable radius of 380mm and depending on how you align the part more could be obtainable.
The key feature of the build is the plate. There are approximately thirty 3d printed parts in the build and two laser cut wood plates.
I am offering two approaches.
1) Use a flat plate like the Tevo big delta (I would go wider next time)
2) Use an angle plate and extrusion. (pictured, you can go as wide as you would like)
Because of Duet I don't see any problems building big or wide. .5mm Tolerances exist in the 5.5mm plate holes, in the curvature of the extrusion and ho
