This model is a ventilator spacer which allows the cable to run neatly behind and the entire fan system to fit flush to the wall. This originally came about as I needed to replace the extractor fan in the cellar. The replacement (Xpelair Simply Silent DX100HTR) had the wire extruding from the rear which meant it could not fit snugly against the wall. This spacer fixed the issue for me. It should fit any extractor fan that is designed for Ø100 mm and approximately 150mm x 150mm. However as not all fans are equal the original design can be found and tweaked in tinkercad to your specification: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/bRcomWocgp4-extractor-fan-spacer/. Hope you find it useful :-)
