Ventilator Y (wye) adapter

Y (wye) adapter for ventilator. Designed in response to COVID-19 to prepare for use/re-use of ventilator circuits.

Use at your own risk -- no implied warranty for safety or effectiveness.

Ventilator connections have small and large versions, tapered to allow for pressure fit.
Standard is ISO 5356-1: 2004

Maximum ventilator settings are typically 60 cm H2O [~0.85 PSI]

Recommend to print using SLA printer to ensure good layer adhesion (and no leaks).

FDM printers are hard to achieve airtight / watertight characteristics.
FDM printers with ABS material will work, but requires one of the following post-processing:

-acetone to smooth the layer lines together (careful to avoid the contact points of the tapered fit)

-ABS cement

Leak test on ventilator prior to use
Sterilize / clean appropriately prior to use

SLA resin and digital ABS prints passed sterilization (PV.270.04.30 -- steam sterilization pre vac cycle -- 270 F for 4 minutes -- 30 minute dry time)
