Remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/hsc2k. This height-reduced and dimpled vfo knob fits the zBitx just fine if you remove the top 5mm of the rotary encoder shaft.
To trim the shaft length, these are the minimum things you should to in order to protect the radio and the case.
-mask up the front of the radio with plastic or masking tape, allowing the shaft to protrude
-use a pair of locking forceps or similar tool to hold the shaft without getting your fingers in the way ;)
-carefully cut the rotary encoder shaft with a stout pair of side cutters or bolt cutters. the aluminium is soft and it will cut with relative ease. my bolt cutters are only 10" long for example.
-file or use a powered rotary tool on low speed to file down the messy edge the cut leaves behind. set up your shop vac hose to grab the filings so they don't fall onto the radio.
I printed this with internal supports and then removed them but didn't make it clean and tidy as the left behind rough edges in the hole g
