VistaVane ClockModel DescriptionThe VistaVane Clock is a contemporary timepiece that replaces traditional hands with two concentric rotating disks, one for hours and one for minutes. Each disk is printed with its respective numerals in a counter‐clockwise progression (hours 1–12; minutes 00–55 in five minute increments). A minimalist front cover with two small openings reveals only the active hour and minute through the top half of the clock face. The entire mechanism is housed in a bulky profile, with the clock motor seated behind the face and its shafts driving the disks from the center. Space is provided on the upper back allows for simple wall hanging. There is also a stand designed to stand the clock on flat surface.Design ConceptBy inverting both motion and numbering, the VistaVane Clock creates an intuitive and elegant way to read time without hands. The disks rotate clockwise, mirroring conventional clock‐motor behaviour, while the anti clockwise numbering aligns the desired numeral with each viewing aperture. This interplay of opposite directions generates visual intrigue and encourages a fresh interaction with an everyday object. The cover’s clean lines and discrete openings focus attention on the moving numerals, emphasizing form and function in a balanced, modern aesthetic. Why VistaVane?“VistaVane” is a made-up name combining two suggestive words:• Vista (from Latin vistare “to view”): suggests a panoramic scene or viewpoint. In this context, it highlights the act of peeking through the clock’s aperture to see the time.• Vane (like a weather vane or directional blade): implies a pointer or indicator that turns. Here, it refers to the rotating disks that “point” each numeral into the viewing window.• Together, “VistaVane” emphasizes both the visual experience (“vista”) of gazing through the clock’s openings and the rotational mechanism (“vane”) that brings the correct numbers into view. It’s a name that conveys movement, direction, and a fresh way to “see
