VivoFit Replacemet Strap Buckle

A replacement buckle for the VivoFit strap. Mine degraded overtime so I made an attempt to reverse engineer it.

I have done a test print in PLA and it seemed to work well. ̶I̶d̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶, ̶I̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶i̶n̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶f̶l̶e̶x̶i̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶a̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶T̶P̶U̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶u̶n̶f̶o̶r̶t̶u̶n̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶I̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶t̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶,̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶.̶

UPDATES:

TPU - I have just printed the part in TPU and I got good results! I kept it in the same orientation and support structure (which, surprisingly came off relatively easily) as I used for PLA shown in the picture above.

PLA - After about an hour or so of wearing the PLA printed buckle it started to rub uncomfortably on my wrist. To overcome this issue I made a couple of quick passes with a flame over the print. Just enough
