After experimenting with fully printed fidget spinners, I kept coming back to the same conclusion: they simply don't have the weight or spin time that makes a fidget spinner truly satisfying. They are all awesome but can't free spin for 10 seconds plus like an old-school fidget spinner can. The Vortex Spinner was designed to solve that by combining the lightweight feel of a 3D printed body with the momentum of a standard 608 bearing. The result is a spinner that feels balanced in your hand, spins smoothly for several seconds, and creates a mesmerizing vortex effect as it rotates. The body is designed to print flat on the build plate with no supports required, making it quick and easy to produce while maintaining a clean finish. Assembly Uses one standard 608 bearing (22 mm × 8 mm × 7 mm). Use a ceramic bearing for a longer spin Insert the bearing from the bottom only. The pocket is intentionally undersized at the top so the bearing cannot work its way back out during use. A light tap with a rubber mallet or similar tool will fully seat the bearing - It will be, and should be tight Bonus An optional desktop storage tray is included on its own print plate within the 3MF. Print it if you'd like a dedicated place to keep your Vortex Spinner on your desk, or simply skip that plate if you only want the spinner. (pictured below) I hope you enjoy printing and spinning it as much as I enjoyed designing it. Happy printing! Optional Bearing Caps: Prefer a cleaner look or a little extra comfort? Matching snap-fit bearing caps are available as a separate download
