I need some planter pots to plant some strawberries and flowers in for this upcoming season in my garden. I have a bunch of 4x4's that I wanted to mount some planter pots onto. I made two different sizes, 6 inches in height and 8 inches in height. The taller 8 inch one is shown in the picture. The planter pot is slightly tapered to give it some extra strength. The spine in the back helps support the weight of the dirt and contains the hole for the screw that can fit a #10 screw. The hole for the screw also has a tapered section inside the box so it can sink the head of the screw down into it and prevent the screw from protruding into the box and dirt itself. There are two drain holes on each side that are a little bit above the bottom. The corners have tapered triangles extending down the height of it to give it strength against twisting and bending. the edges on the top and sides have been rounded to be nicer to the plants so they don't get as easily cut by the plastic when blown by the wind if they are hanging down.It has been designed to be as full featured as possible for an experienced gardener but also light enough to be able to print at least 2 per roll of filament. Use 2 walls to do this and it will be less than 500g of filament. According to ChatGPT, a #10 screw in wood can hold 150-200 pounds, which is why I only put one screw hole in there.3D printing settings:*No Support needed*10% infill is fine and what I have used, but you can use 20% if you want*I suggest 2 walls*PLA works great but I made it in PETG*Make sure you have good bed adhesion*I printed on a K1C as referencePlease feel free to share images of your prints on this page, I would love to see the colors you decide to go with.
