I wanted some hooks right next to my door so I had a convenient place to hang up my dog's collars. I thought I would try something new, so I embedded some big rare earth magnets into the print job.
I used the following magnets:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XD2X45M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is print job was optimized for an initial layer of 0.425mm and subsequent layers of 0.18mm.
Print the job through layer 20 (3.845mm) and have the printer pause
Insert two magnets (2.75mm x 29.5mm)
Restart the print job at layer 21 to finish
I'm not including the .gcode files I used because apparently there are different commands to use based on what type of gcode (standard or proprietary) your printer uses and the method you use to deliver that code to the printer (USB, SD, etc.). Also, what slicer you use to prepare the gcode has different methods to pause or stop/restart the print job.
I used simplify3D and created two .gcode files. The first .
