This adapter moves the inductive sensor of the Wanhao duplicator 9 to the back of the extruder. This is to compensate for the design flaw of having the sensor on the extruder aluminium heat sink. The sensor heats up with the extruder resulting in poor accuracy and inconsistent first layer printing.
Important! the y-axis limit switch must be moved back to compensate. If you do not do this, the machine will not level correctly and could result in damage. You will lose 20mm of printing area.
Take care when leveling the machine with the adapter as the clever people at wanhao didn't install an emergency stop on the machine
Use M10 x 20 bolt with two washers. Adapter for 18mm sensor also included. Let me know if it works! Easy to tweek
I've had good homing ever since I installed this adapter. Changing to a touch sensor doesn't address the problem, especially when printing with an all metal hot end.
