Thought this would be a good test thing to make and publish. Its a discrete and simple LED mount. It uses standard thru hole LED's in series, and attaches to the front of the printer where the stock cooler goes. It is wired in parallel with the extruder cooling fan.
* 2- #6 1/2" Machine Screws.
* 4- 5mm Clear or difused white LED
* 33 ohm resistor
* Any translucent film to go behind the rhino. (I used 3m tape which was perfect)
* HOT GLUE
The wider the angle the better for the LED's I used what I had laying around. The angle was way to narrow so i sanded the rounded part down which worked pretty good.
Installation:
Pretty straight forward, i punched the lights into a piece of paper to help me solder them in and get the polarity correct. Although after you fit two together I found it easier to solder them in place on the print.
Side note:
The cooler I am now using is the Ciii Cooler - Rear mounted cooler for Wanhao Duplicator i3 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2
