Warframe: Lotus Emblem

The prompt for this model was to create a design from a 2D canvas image. I, being my nerdy self, decided to use the emblem of the character Lotus from one of my favorite video games, Warframe.

To create this model I outlined each of the individual shapes and made them into their own body, after which I extruded them to different levels to create depth.

The individual shapes were very intensive on curves that vary in their slopes. Instead of taxing the computer with many splines and other curved lines that require complex math, I zoomed in on the canvas image and made many small straight lines to better follow the curve. The result is an easier model for a computer to handle, however in the final print the lines are slightly visible when held up to light.
