I did not use supports for the watering can, I don't think you would need to, but you can if you really want to. The lid however, does require supports. Put the supports under the lid and print right side up, the way the lid is oriented in the file should be the right way.
I did not paint this thing, I printed in black PLA. I would recommend coating the watering can in epoxy, especially if you decide to paint it, but it is not required for the watering can to work. Coating the can with epoxy will probably make it last longer if you also use PLA plastic because PLA is biodegradable
