A simple shape with 3 dimensional grooves that line up to form secondary patterns in addition to the main tessellation.
In addition to forming an endless repeating pattern, this tessellation also can form many different patterns, both hexagon and triangle based. I have attached renders of some of these, but the bigger you go the more possibilities!
I am printing some now, I will update with real pictures soon. Based on my other designs the current tolerance should work.
Made in Fusion 360.
