The Vegvísir (often called the “Viking compass”) is an Icelandic magical stave or symbol meant to guide and protect the bearer. Its name roughly translates to “wayfinder” or “signpost,” and it’s said to ensure that a person won’t lose their way—even in storms or unfamiliar territory.Despite its strong association with Vikings, the Vegvísir actually comes from a later Icelandic manuscript called the Huld Manuscript (from the 1800s), not the Viking Age. Today, it’s commonly used as a symbol of guidance, protection, and staying on the right path in life. A great piece to hang on your wall.
