This project is a compact DIY ultrasonic wind meter (anemometer) based on an ESP32. It measures wind speed and direction using time-of-flight (TOF): a short 40 kHz ultrasonic burst is sent between two opposite transducers, then the circuit switches to receive and timestamps the first detected echo edge. By measuring forward and reverse travel times on two perpendicular axes (X/Y), the firmware calculates wind components, wind speed, and wind direction.

Everything is integrated into a small enclosure/box designed to keep the electronics protected and tidy, with internal space for additional small PCBs/modules (e.g., driver boards, sensor boards, power modules), making it easy to expand or swap parts during development.
