Well, I decided to make a weatherproof outlet box based on some characteristics of On Market products and my own testing/failures. This design was made for 120V straight-Blade Receptacles.
The hinges of the lid have a diameter hole of 2mm, so a core pin could be used or a cheaper way is to use a nail, which I did.
I added two snap fit features, so it lock strong and requires a bit of force to open.
For installation, it could be placed in vertical or horizontal places.
I made an internal wall around the outlet cavity, so that if water leaks through the openings, it will move along the sides and not enter the receptacle. I also left a small hole in the snap cavities, so the water can drain through them.
