This is a model of a Stereo 10K audio taper potentiometer (aka variable resistor). It is the type commonly found as a volume control for portable electronic devices such as CD players, headphones, & video games. This model can be used as a "dummy" fit for designing custom cases for your electronics. This model was based from the Radio Shack part number 2710001. There are many common similar parts, most of them vary slightly, such as the thickness of the wheel.
