Whipple Shield

I designed this example, Whipple Shield, to learn more about spacecraft shielding. For this design, I conceptualized a 3mm initial aluminum sheet with 4mm Nextel fabric second layer, and a final 1 cm honeycomb structured layer of aluminum foam. Each layer is separated 50mm apart with 5 5mm diameter carbon fiber rod connecting each layer. I based this design on similar real-world examples but with my own adaptations.
