Hover & Whistle RollHave you ever thought that an empty filament spool could become a scientific toy? With this project, we turn a used spool into a fun device that combines sound and movement using the physics of air! How does it work?We 3D print three components: • A small whistle • An expansion cone to direct airflow • A base with holes to create a “hover” effect Simply attach a balloon to the top. When inflated and released, the air creates two effects: 1. The whistle makes a sound as the air flows through it. 2. The air escaping from the holes underneath reduces friction with the ground, making the spool glide smoothly like a mini hovercraft! This project is a great example of how air pressure differences and airflow can be used in a fun and creative way.
