This is a wind-indicator that I made for my daughters dinghy.
- It uses 4mm diameter rods (I used carbon) with the pieces super-glued in place.
- The pivot is two separate pieces that are printed together can can not be separated. I needed to give them a little push with the rod to crack them apart, after that, they spun nicely.
- When you're assembling, make sure that the centre of mass is over the pivot by sliding the rod back and forth until there is no rotation when you hold it off vertical (it will lie to you when the boat is on an angle if you don't do this!).
- The nose should be printed with 100% infill and the tail with 5 - 15% infill.
Enjoy :)
