I needed a hook to hang some brooms, swiffers etc up in the laundry room closet. It has those stupid wire rack shelves. I designed this to snap in.

Depending on how deep your shelf is and how much you can "deform" the wires temporarily for installation you may have better luck with +/- 1-2% on the scale.

This helped us clean up our laundry room. Maybe it'll help you too.
