Wolf Mask Salish Style

This mask is made in the the style of the NorthWest natives of the North American Continent, including and especially the Tlinget, Inuit, Salish, Kwakwaka'waka, Nuxsalk. I looked at lots of Totem poles and carvings for inspiration and this is the design I finally developed from my sketches. Special thanks to all the tribes involved, and any others I may have forgotten to mention.

If you have a small printer bed, scale down and make it a decorative ornament instead of a mask. When I made the large version, I learned a few things. It got stuffy inside, so I drilled holes for the air to pass thru. I added straps to the back so it sits like a headlamp with the T-shaped intersection of straps in the back held by a buckle. The tongue is a piece of craft fabric that hangs thru the mouth, and can be retracted.
