Wood slice shelves

It can be a challenge to design display solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. This project combines a 3D printed modular mounting bracket with a live-edge log slice, to create a stylish and practical floating shelf that can be mounted anywhere. Great for nature-themed exhibit displays where floor space is limited. Each individual shelf is rated for a maximum load of 2-3 pounds when using command strips cut to the size of the backing, so screws (preferably imbedded in a stud) should be used for heavy display objects. For very heavy applications, it is recommended to scale up the mounting brackets to provide more support for the log slice, or to print the backplate vertically instead of flat to remove the potential seam weakness between the dovetail key and main backplate.
