XE25 BPL and BPR

This is a base plate for XE25 rails provided by Thorlabs. It connects to two sides of a XE25, convenient to connect XE25 rails vertically to form enclosures.

I highly recommend using AB90H, XE25A90 or XE25CL2, which serve the same purpose. However, I am experimenting with different connectors to facilitate my construction of optical enclosures.

This base plate is mechanically stable, fits optical breadboard and, most importantly for me, does not require cutting corners of black hardboards, or horizontal rails linked to the optical breadboard.

Still, aluminium brackets from Thorlabs are the way to go, but this design may be useful to some of us.

My earlier variant, BP2, is a convenient item for corners of enclosures. However, I had an instance where the base plate had to be placed at the edge of the optical breadboard. I, therefore, modified the base plate. This is in two mirrored versions, Left and Right.
