Yarn untwister

When knitting or crocheting with more than one colour, it is usual for the yarns to wrap / twist around each other, and you find yourself having to untwist them quite often. This tool holds up to 4 (although it works best with 2) yarn cakes (not yarn balls) on rods screwed into a plate which can be easily rotated so as to untwist the yarn colours. With 4 cakes, the untwisting of the yarn may not be effective depending upon the order in which the yarns became twisted in the first place.

The tool is made from many separate components which screw together and can be unscrewed for portability. No additional parts (metal or otherwise) are needed, nor gluing up.

The complete project prints in PLA, using 0.2 mm layers with supports. Tree supports work best, as there are allot of threads which do require supports. The hardest part to remove supports from is the part with the large conical hole. To avoid trees within the hole, print it standing upright.
