These yellow motors are cheap and ubiquitous and are used in many robotics kits. They are useful because they have a reduction gearbox.
One problem is that they are somewhat difficult to mount to a project prototype. This mount should help someone who wishes to use them in their own project. - though they are not recommended for their quality.
**Fit**
I printed these and had to file a little to allow the drive shaft to fit, then I went back and adjusted the design to correct for this. Hopefully you won’t have to file at all, but I am not going to print them again to check, so if you use this design there are no guarantees – but I do provide the original design files if you want to tweak them.
**Reviving a broken gearbox**
I don’t recommend buying these yellow motors because they break very easily: the nylon pinion gear slips on the smooth lubricated motor shaft. There is a solution though. You can open the motor very easily and mark the shaft with a hacksaw if you hold it i
